It’s Christmas Day and it’s business as usual in sunny Nanjing….. well, maybe NOT that sunny. I checked the air polution index this morning and found it measured well over the maximum recommened level of 100…. 253 means heavily poluted… and that’s the Chinese government meansurement which is usually significantly lower than the America Embassy readings (which are not available in Nanjing).
Therefore, I can confidently say that today, in Nanjing, the air was very very very dirty.
However, I managed somehow to walk through the thick air, without choking, all the way to Metro to pick up some supplies for a Christmas meal later.
Now, I’m in the warmth and comfort of Tressie and Bill’s house enjoying being able to go upstairs to bed. And I can stroke the cats and make the place as warm and comfy as I like. That’s what I call a great Christmas.
